Miya Music Therapy is currently accepting applicants for a Temporary Certified Music Therapist with Opportunity for Growth.
MMT is looking for a part-time temporary music therapist for 10 hours/week of in-person work in long-term care settings (with the opportunity to grow to more hours if desired and continue into a permanent position). The independent contractor will be taking over a music therapist leave and will be placed in facilities with an established music therapy partnership with MMT.
Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) status, or in progress.
Experience and passion for working with older adults.
Meets the musical and clinical competencies recommended by the Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Creative and adaptive clinical skills.
Possess guitar along with a variety of rhythm instruments. (Some instruments are available through facilities for use).
Possess a reliable car to commute to North York and Richmondhill.
Implement music therapy in long-term care settings.
Abide by all PPE regulations.
Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation, and education.
Attends (monthly) team meetings.
