MEET THE DEVELOPMENTAL CARE TEAM
Carmen Lee
Certified Music Therapist
Carmen loves working with this population, as music allows individuals to express themselves in a safe space, through words, song, music, and movement. Both active and receptive music therapy interventions are used in each session, including singing, instrument playing, movement, songwriting, listening, and relaxation. Autonomy, empowerment, and interaction in sessions are often emphasized, allowing for clients to take ownership of the music they are making. Her clinical experience in this area spans a wide range of age, abilities, and diagnoses and includes classrooms, a children rehabilitation centre, group homes, summer camps, and day programs.
